What Happened
Google announced that Ask Gemini in Google Meet is now available for Business Standard customers (€20/month per user). Previously, this feature was limited to more expensive Enterprise plans. Starting February 2026, it also works in Portuguese and on the mobile app.
What It Means For Your Business
If you use Google Workspace for your company meetings, you can now have an AI assistant present in every call. Gemini can answer questions about what was discussed, create automatic summaries at the end of the meeting and even help find relevant information during the conversation. This is especially useful when you join a meeting halfway or need to review what was decided.
How You Can Use This
During a Google Meet meeting, you can ask Gemini things like 'What was decided about the budget?' or 'What were the main points discussed?'. At the end of the meeting, Gemini can generate an automatic summary with key points and assigned tasks. You need Business Standard plan or higher from Google Workspace.
Practical Examples
A sales team can use Gemini to create summaries of client meetings, ensuring no detail is lost. A manager who attends many meetings can quickly review what was discussed without watching the entire recording. A company with teams in different time zones can use summaries to keep everyone aligned even when they couldn't attend.
Our Advice
If you already use Google Workspace, it's worth trying this feature. Automatic meeting summaries can save hours of manual work. However, be careful with confidential meetings: AI is processing the conversation content. Check your company's privacy policies before enabling this feature in sensitive meetings.
